~ A few words from Gwen ~
I am passionate about nature, recreation, land and sustainable architecture, and largely preoccupied with the fundamental physiological human need to have a place of shelter-and to this end, revolutionary in my approach to selling property. The summary of my pursuit as a REAL estate agent is to enable and empower people to find their perfect place of shelter- the foundation from which to develop higher human motives. I am selective about the properties I list, based on essential criteria for practical and sustainable living, just as I was selective about the town where I live, and have for 38 years – PLETTENBERG BAY.
The Allure of Plettenberg bay is in its position on earth, a small coastal town at 34 degrees south of the equator, located in a classic half moon bay that is sheltered to the south by the Robberg Peninsula, and surrounded, within a radius of 80km, by an abundance of diverse natural beauty, incorporating nature reserves, protected corridor areas, Ramsar sites and wilderness areas. It is also largely thanks to the Bitou municipality's environmental strategic development plan, that perseveres to conserve this natural beauty and keep urban sprawl at bay, as far as is possible. The demographics of the town is also diverse and cosmopolitan and the community prides itself on many projects to keep the social-economic dynamic healthy. Although the CBD and Industrial area is small, it caters admirably for the day to day needs of the community and the seasonal influx of local and international tourists. Over the last fifty years, the medical, financial and educational facilities have developed and improved to a high standard, a major benefit to the town's country-style living.
