Turn left and it's a 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants of the Simon’s Town high street. Turn right and head down to the swimming beaches at Seaforth and Water’s Edge, or walk 5 minutes along the boardwalk to the world-famous Boulders Beach.
Built in 1899 as a home for the foreman brought in to build the naval harbour, Whale House has been renovated in the vernacular of the Victorian-era British Navy which once owned Simon’s Town.
The front door opens into a comfortable sitting room with a large fireplace. In the corner is a reading nook with a day bed, perfect for curling up near the fire with a novel. French doors open from the kitchen onto a large raised veranda, perfect for stepping out in the early morning to enjoy the view across False Bay.
When the hustle and bustle of summer visitors and the midday sun begin to wear, or if wind and rain make it unpleasant to be outdoors, one can retreat to the central covered courtyard, with it’s huge dining table and big tree.
This home has three bedrooms, all en suite. The upstairs mezzanine suite has a sky-lit sitting room and bathroom with a big cast-iron tub. Two ground floor bedrooms ensure that there will always be room for visitors.
A lock-up garage has room for one car, and there is ample parking in the area for visitors' cars.
